Here is a glossary of terms to help you understand tutorials
Right side of fabric- this is the side you want facing outwards. Usually this is the patterned side or the correct side a fabric to have on the outer. Like fleece and jersey can look the same both sides but there is usually a correct side. However it’s up to you which you use.
Wrong side of fabric- this is the side you want facing inwards. This is usually a plain, non patterned side or the side that isn’t the correct one to have facing out. In some fabrics this is the fluffy brushed side for other fabrics it’s less obvious unless you compare both sides under a light.
Seam Allowance- this is the extra you need to add that becomes your seam inside. You need this extra so when you are making something a certain side you have spare to sew it up with. This can sometimes be referred to as SA.
Seam– the area the is sewn at the side. Ends up inside garments and makes.
